We want to bring a new and improved meaning to landscaping. We want to attract landscapers that are up for every job, managing projects with the skills and experience that homeowners will come to expect. However, there’s more to it than that. Our goal is to bring landscapers and homeowners together to create jobs, beautify communities and significantly improve the environment by turning towards a Greener more environmentally-friendly mode of landscaping.

 

It’s estimated that every gallon of gasoline burned by lawnmowers emits 20 pounds of CO2. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, one gas lawn mower emits 89 pounds of CO2 and 34 pounds of other pollutants annually. According to studies, using a gas-powered mower for one hour has the same carbon footprint as a 100-mile car trip. If we can help reduce these pollutants by even just a fraction of what it is now then call us crazy but that’s exactly what we are going to try and do.

Over the past few years, the Skape team has been studying and researching the landscaping industry as much as possible to really understand the needs of both landscaping companies and homeowners. To help bring this industry to the next level, we’ve created two apps, one for landscapers called ‘Skaper’ and one for homeowners called ‘Skape’, that help solve the problems within this industry. 

 

Our apps…

 

1. Directly connect homeowners to a population of landscapers that can view and bid on your job for a higher price, a lower price, or accept it as is in-app and without a single phone call. 

   • You’ll then have the option to choose the Skaper whose bid best fits your budget, whose reviews and ratings stand out among others, or whose knowledge and experience seem stronger than others when answering any questions that you may have had via in-app messaging before accepting their bid. 

2. Feature a property outlining tool with functionality to allow homeowners to upload pictures and other important details about their property to what we are calling the ‘Property Profile’.

   • This gives landscapers a mobile view of the job request and property details to make an informed bid without ever having to travel to the job site to quote the job before completing it. 

3. Estimate the price for homeowners based on property size and selected services so they can get an idea of what a fair bid would be for their property before accepting one.

4. Provide jobs, not just empty leads. Owners of landscaping companies no longer need to pay for leads that they don’t end up capitalizing on.   

 

Our goal is to have landscapers arrive at the property within 12-48 hours to complete the Skape request; however, we also provide the option to schedule your job on whatever day and time you want. Furthermore, communication is essential which is why we’ve added Google translate to our in-app chat so messages between homeowners and landscapers can be translated into any desired language. Lastly, privacy is a priority for us. All payments are processed with Stripe which ensures that any credit card information is stored safely so users can trust us to securely process any payments that are made within our apps.
